Sustainable sourcing

forms the bedrock of Fresh Sourcing philosophy today. Since its inception in 1997, Fresh Sourcing has been the preferred sourcing company for outdoor active lifestyle brands who have been the forerunners in environment protection and sustainable products. What started off as ‘organic cotton’ as the highest sustainability quotient 26 years ago has become a mission to live, practice and offer 100% sustainable products to our customers across fabrics, accessories and packaging. This is our commitment to making a small yet significant difference to planet, community and business.

Sustainability at home

Sustainability in Fresh Sourcing starts at home. Our office is not in a commercial office building with uncontrollable and excess energy consumption. Instead we are located in a standalone office building with  low energy consumption, surrounded by greenery, close to the sea and in the heart of the outdoor active lifestyle hub of Chennai. Our team comprises of marathoners and cyclists who deeply value the great outdoors and the environment. Our commitment to the environment stems from our connect to the environment. All stationary is 100% recyclable and bio-degradable by January 2022.

Sustainability in Sourcing

Our 2024 NET ZERO mission ( for Scope 1 and Scope 2) is the guiding document of our sustainability commitment. This document can be accessed here . Some of the key highlights of this mission are:

  • All fabrics irrespective of specifications by our customers will be converted to sustainable fabrics by Fresh Sourcing. For example-
    • Cotton  Recycled Cotton (with certification)
    • Polyester  Recycled Polyester (with GRS certification)
    • Viscose  Livaeco Viscose
  • All trims that are sourced by Fresh Sourcing will be sustainable by default. In this respect we are already in the halfway mark in achieving full sustainability or environment friendly trim options. For example-
    • All labels will be recycled polyester labels (with GRS certification).
    • All tags will use FSC certified paper or will be tags recycled from waste production waste fabric.
    • Polyester coil zips with recycled PET.
    • Buttons will be ghost net nylon and HDPE.
    • All sewing thread will be recycled polyester thread.
  • Washing with eco-friendly softeners and dyeing with natural dyes.
  • Blockchain powered traceability platform for all viscose fabrics.
  • All our apparel manufacturing partners will be powered by solar energy by the end of 2024.

Our own outdoor lifestyle influenced by our long association with our active lifestyle customers keep us very close to environment causes . We shall continue to push new frontiers in sustainable and transparent sourcing every year.
